The average length of a wikipedia article is about 658 words. People who still think wikipedia is some completely unreliable source of information. Once you download your zim file (wikipedia, stackoverflow or whatever) you can browse it without any further need for internet connectivity.

For context, i am a beginner at editing wikipedia and having doing so for a year up until now. I maintain a personal list of what i consider to be some of the most interesting wikipedia articles and, having recently reached 500 entries, i figured i'd share it.
As a reminder, kiwix is an offline reader: Downloading wikipedia is great and all, but it has little useful information in case of emergency. It was able to browse and pull directly from the zip file with out. While wikipedia is written by volunteers, hosting isn't free, and neither is all the other work we do to make sure wikipedia continues growing for many years to come.
